We wanted our last pre-season game to be a real test and that is exactly what we got. Going to Loughborough Students is always a tough task, and so the tempo with which they played at was no surprise to us. For large parts of the game we competed extremely well and even dominated in some areas, however our lack of accuracy meant we left a few chances out there and a few defensive issues gave them a few soft line breaks. Overall it was definitely a step in the right direction for the group. We used 25 players and every one of them put their hand up for selection for the first league match next week. The squad is in great shape moving forward. We will address some of the issues this week and be ready for the huge challenge away to Tonbridge Juddians next week.
