Commenting on the re-signing of Jamel Hamilton, head coach Gareth Collins said: ''Jamel is a really talented footballer who was ever-present in our midfield last year. He's a great organiser, and his ability to offload gives our attack an added dimension. He's been at Lions for a number of seasons now so, as a key member of the group, I'm delighted he's staying with us.''

Jamel commented: ''I'm really pleased to be committing to Lions for another season. The buy-in on and off the pitch last year from the boys was fantastic so re-signing was an easy decision. Even though Gaz has lost his legs, he's a young(ish) and ambitious coach so I look forward to working with him again.''

Commenting on the re-signing of Charlie Loveday, Collins said: ''Charlie had a great breakthrough season last year. He got better and better as the season went on and finished the season with some excellent performances. He is a young tight head who has everything needed to be a top prop at this level. We've got real depth in the front row, but he'll continue to learn from the more experienced boys and will continue to get better.''

Charlie commented: ‘‘I really enjoyed my first season at Lions last year. I know Gaz from when he coached me at Melton so it was great to be working with him again. I really enjoyed working with Jase [Aldwinckle] and Seko [Sio] as well. I gained some really valuable experience and I'm looking forward to pushing for a starting spot this season.’’
