Leicester Lions got off to a slow start in this last pre-season game before going into the league campaign next week. Hinckley's workman like back row caused problems for the Lions all afternoon. Leicester Lions showed good structure at times but struggled to finish and cross the white wash.
Hinckley scored two first half tries and one in the second. Lions started to play more smart rugby in the second half and were awarded a penalty try from a strong scrum. Lions found themselves camped on the Hinckley line once again and this time the try came from the base of another strong scrum as number 8, Marco picked and crossed the line.
Time got the better of any further comeback and Lions will use the loss as an eye opener for the reality of the tough league season ahead. All credit to Hinckley who put in a top performance with a huge amount of dog and enthusiasm. We wish them the best of luck for the season.
Lions first League encounter comes this week when they make the long journey to Tynedale. Please Note: this is an Away fixture to to ongoing work at the Leicester Lions ground.
